Mr Pongton Chayatulachat - Owner
Mr Pongton Chayatulachat and his staff are some of the most generous people you will meet. Kind and genuine, they will make you feel at home when you stay at the Lotus Guest House. Although a budget guest house, the proceeds that are not required for the running and maintenance of the accommodation are donated towards village development and the education of Thai people in rural areas.

The owner of Lotus Guest House; Mr Pongton Chayatulachat, is the Executive Secretary for the Eternal Earth Foundation (EEF) and the Director of the Hill Tribe Education Center (H-TEC). These organisations, driven by the passion of Mr Chayatulachat, are based in Chiang Rai and focus on the development, education and training of village people with little skills or prospects.
Mr Chayatulachat regularly works with many government organisations, NGO's, INGO's, and Development and Aid organisations. The proceeds from the Lotus Guest House are also donated towards the development and education of villagers. In order to do this, Mr Chayatulachat brings village people to Chiang Rai to train them and develop their skill base, making them employable both within the cities and back in their villages and surrounding areas. Through this much needed education and skills transfer programme, Mr Pongton Chayatulachat and the Lotus Guest House are helping with overall village development, sanitation, health and the education of Thai people.
Mr Chayatulachat and his organisations also work with village people with disabilities. Through training and aid, these people now have a chance at living a normal life.
The Lotus Guest House also takes on Thai Work Experience students who wish to work in the tourism industry. Over a three month period, the students are trained, educated and given exposure to the realities, necessities and knowledge required for running an international guest house. This experience also develops their people skills, customer relations, English Language skills and confidence. Guests staying at the Lotus Guest House can teach, train and talk to these students and provide them with their own valuable insights.
