Weather in Chiang Rai

There are three main seasons in Chiang Rai and the average temperature is 25ºC. The Cool season begins in late October and ends in February. The coldest months are December and January when the average night-time temperature is 10 - 15ºC.

The summer season is from March to May when the average daily temperature  is 17 - 36ºC. March is probably the best time to visit Chiang Rai when the weather is between the hot and cool seasons.

Monsoon season starts May and ends in October. Aside from the rain the average temperature is 25ºC so remember to pack your raincoat. It is not advised to travel to Chiang Rai in August or September as the city tends to flood at this time of the year.
